Bug Drop Privacy Policy
Bug Drop is a puzzle game published by Playverse ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game collects, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it.
- You can play without giving us your real name or email. The game creates a random account for you automatically.
- Other players see the name and country you choose, your rating and your scores.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Personalised ads are only shown if you allow them.
- Bug Drop does not use your camera, microphone, contacts or precise location, and it never reads your photo library.
- We do not use analytics tools, and we do not sell your personal information.
- You can delete your account and data at any time in the game: More → Account → Delete account.
1. Information we collect
Information you choose to give us
- Display name: the name you type in, shown to other players. It does not have to be your real name.
- Country: the country you pick from the list, shown next to your name and used for country leaderboards.
Your account
- Account ID: a random identifier created the first time you play online, using Google Firebase Authentication. It is not linked to your name, phone number or email unless you choose to sign in.
- Bug ID: a short code made from your account ID, which friends use to add you.
- Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple (optional): if you choose to sign in, we receive your email address and an account identifier from Google or Apple, so your progress can be restored on a new phone. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email, in which case we only receive a private relay address from Apple.
Gameplay information
- Your rating, games played, wins, level, streak, season, title and the in-game items you have equipped.
- Your scores on daily and weekly challenges, classic mode and weekly leaderboards, and replays of your challenge runs.
- Tournament entries and the match results you report.
- Game invites you send and receive, and whether you are online right now, so friends can see who is available.
- Online match records: a random seed, the two players' account IDs and the moves each player made. These contain no names.
Information collected for advertising
Bug Drop shows ads from Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects information to show and measure ads, including:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when your iPhone asks;
- approximate location derived from your IP address;
- information about ads shown to you and how you interact with them;
- device, performance and crash information.
Google's use of this information is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Information kept only on your phone
Settings, your friends list, practice progress, puzzle results, in-game coins and items, and saved replays are stored on your device. They are not sent to us, except where listed above.
2. Permissions on your phone
| Permission | How Bug Drop uses it |
|---|---|
| Photos (add only) | Only used when you share a match card and choose Save Image. The game can add that one picture to Photos. It cannot see, read or change anything already in your library. |
| Tracking | Only used for personalised ads, as described in section 5. The game works the same whatever you choose. |
| Camera and microphone | Not used. Bug Drop never asks for them and never records video or sound. |
| Location, contacts, health | Not used. |
When you share a match card, the picture goes only to the app or person you pick in your phone's share sheet. It is not uploaded to us.
3. How we use information
| Purpose | Information used |
|---|---|
| Running the game: matchmaking, online matches, leaderboards, friends, tournaments | Display name, country, account ID, Bug ID, gameplay information |
| Keeping your progress when you change phones | Account ID, and your email if you signed in with Google or Apple |
| Showing and measuring ads, which keep the game free | Advertising information described above |
| Keeping the game fair and secure | Account ID, match records |
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the game you asked for, our legitimate interest in running and protecting it, and your consent for personalised advertising.
4. Who can see your information
- Other players see your display name, country, rating, level, title, equipped items, scores and challenge replays on leaderboards, friend lists and match screens.
- Google Firebase stores the game's online data and accounts on our behalf.
- Google AdMob and the ad partners it works with receive the advertising information described above.
- Google and Apple handle sign-in if you choose to use them.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for any other purpose unless the law requires us to.
5. Advertising and tracking choices
- If your iPhone asks whether Bug Drop may track you across apps and websites and you choose Ask App Not to Track, or if you are never asked, the advertising identifier is not shared and you will see non-personalised ads. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent form from Google asks for your choice before any ads are requested. To change your choice later, delete and reinstall Bug Drop and the form will appear again the next time you open it.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your account and gameplay information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed as described below. Online match records, which contain only random account IDs and moves, may be kept after deletion. Copies in Google's backups expire on Google's own schedule.
7. Deleting your account and data
In the game, open More → Account → Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes:
- your profile: display name, country, rating and statistics;
- your challenge, classic and weekly scores, and your replays;
- your Bug ID, invites, tournament entries and the tournament results you reported;
- your account itself, and, if you used Sign in with Apple, your Apple sign-in tokens;
- everything the game stored on your phone, including your friends list.
Deletion happens straight away and cannot be undone. You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing mmmofficialpage@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days.
8. Children
Bug Drop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
All information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database rules allow each player to change only their own information.
10. Where information is stored
Game data is stored by Google Firebase on servers in Singapore, and may be processed by Google and its partners in other countries, with safeguards required by law.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to object to or limit how it is used, and to complain to a data protection authority. To use these rights, delete your account in the game or contact us.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the game.
